Pruning for Growth

Three years ago, New Harvest Farm (NHF) in central Mozambique started several test plots in nutrient-sapped soil. Today, Chad Vanden Bosch and his team are seeing signs of long-term soil renewal and a promising harvest. In the farm’s syntropic agroforestry test plots, crops like passion fruit (pictured above), mango, citrus, lychee, and coffee are maturing and bearing fruit.

NHF teaches Bible-based farming techniques

Chad notes that many overlook how Scripture speaks to our relationship with creation as well as with God. He shares, “I have been incredibly impacted by reading Scripture through an agricultural lens and I pray the Lord can use NHF to impact others similarly.”

Recently, before a large pruning effort, Chad led workers in a Bible study on John 15:1-2. They reflected on how God uses pruning, how He uses loss and brings new growth in our spiritual lives—and then headed to the fields to clear branches, spread nutrient-rich biomass, and collect firewood for local families, preparing the farm for greater fruitfulness

Pray for the NHF team and community as they live out Biblical concepts through hands-on training.  Praise God for the way NHF is removing barriers to the Gospel—one farmer at a time!
